Has the overwhelming variety of styling tools out there left you feeling confused?  If so, look no further.

Over the next few weeks, we will sit down with Bella’s styling experts to set the record straight on the benefits of using professional tools, as well as how to properly use them.

Bella Expert: Katie

What is it?  1” Professional Ceramic Flat Iron

What does it do? Versatile, will curl or straighten hair

Which features should I look for?
  • Temperature control dial for use on various hair textures
  • Ceramic plates which will seal in moisture, repel humidity, reduce frizz and help eliminate static
  • Automatic shutoff

**Tips and Tricks**

To Straighten:

Apply a smoothing heat protectant like Phytolisse Serum or Phytokeratine Spray to dry hair.  Section hair into 3 to 4 horizontal sections, depending on density and texture.  Starting at the bottom or nape area, smooth hair from roots to ends, slightly beveling the iron as you go.  Hot Tip:  For extra sleekness and shine, use a boar bristle flat brush instead of a comb to flat iron.

To Curl:

Apply a lighter weight heat protectant like Phyto 7 or Phyto 9 to dry hair.  Section hair into larger sections for bouncier, looser curls or smaller sections for smaller, tighter curls.  Clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself a half turn.  Slowly move it down the hair shaft to the end of the hair.  Finish the style with Sebastian Shaper Hairspray.
