Men's Grooming Lifestyle, Part III

Try a shorter, looser version of the classic pompadour for a modern, wearable style.

Soft style and edges lend themselves to an easy-going feel. This look is perfect for creative types in need of looking a bit more buttoned-up, without wearing a button-down.

Thick, wavy textures are best managed at shorter lengths. For best results, style with a medium hold gel or pomade while hair is still slightly damp.

For Those Who Love Long Hair, Part III

If your job demands a conservative look, but you’re more adventurous at heart, try a short and slightly jagged side-swept bang to give long hair a trendy feel.
For a soft, romantic look, keep both texture and style loose. A feminine accessory both enhances delicacy and makes a statement.

This sleek up style transitions perfectly from day to night. To achieve, simply gather hair at the nape and secure with an elastic, then twist and pin sections.

Bella Bethesda Knocks it Out of the Ballroom

On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Bella Bethesda Salon attracted over 250 guests at the Ballroom in Bethesda to participate in an evening of celebration in support of Look Good Feel Better. This year, Hair to Heal featured live entertainment, delicious food and drink, a large silent auction, and an exciting raffle! The fabulous Chilli Amar from Mix 107.3 emceed the night.

Guests enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with friends and family before viewing the much anticipated hair show from the Bella Bethesda stylists. Runway styles were inspired by the natural elements - earth, air, water and fire.  Check back on our Facebook page this week to see all of the looks.  There was something fun for everyone at this year’s Hair to Heal event and we hope to see you all back at our next bi-annual show in 2014!

A special thank you to all those who participated in and supported this event;  your generosity has contributed to another successful and exciting Bella Bethesda fundraising affair, raising over $3500 towards the charity at hand.

For Those Who Love Long Hair, Part II

Long, bouncy layers add modern style while maintaining a professional feel. Say goodbye to the monotony of pulling your hair back every day at the office!
Adding accent color to your natural tone can add warmth, coolness, lightness or darkness. This look is easily tailored and perfect for the color shy!

Pieced out bangs and textured layers give a sultry vibe to this long hairstyle. If your hair is not naturally wavy, wrap large sections around the outside of a curling iron to achieve this loose effect.

For Those Who Love Long Hair

Whether you’re looking for long layers or sleek straight locks Bella Bethesda loves long hair.

For a glamorous evening look, set long hair with a large barreled curling iron, leaving curls intact. Add an accessory for extra drama or a vintage feel.
Combine conservative with edgy by adding streaks of color throughout the underside of long hair. The extent of color exposure can be controlled by the amount of layering in the cut.
Long, thick hair provides the perfect canvas for a voluminous updo. For finer textures, hair pieces can be added to achieve desired fullness.

Casual Medium Length Hairstyles & Haircuts Part II

Your length may be medium but your look certainly is not. This length is ideal for those who relish the versatility of wearing their hair up or down. Bella Bethesda’s stylists will help you find the look that is ideal for your hair type and lifestyle.

If layers aren’t your thing, let the color make a statement. Combining a lighter top with a darker underneath gives finer textures depth and dimension.

Hidden pops of gold and copper are the perfect way to experiment without having to fully commit. Long layers in medium lengths allow color to peek through.
Refined layering removes weight from bulky ends without adding unnecessary fuss to styling. Try adding a gloss to boost natural shine and vivacity.

Casual Medium Length Hairstyles & Haircuts

Your length may be medium but your look certainly is not. This length is ideal for those who relish the versatility of wearing their hair up or down. Bella Bethesda’s stylists will help you find the look that is ideal for your hair type and lifestyle.

Don’t be a slave to the hair dryer when it's humid outside. Instead, encourage waves by scrunching and air drying hair for a tousled look.

Keep the length but throw in some edge with this severely asymmetrical bob. For extra pizazz, accent the heavier side with subtle threads of a bold color.

This look is ideal for curly girls who yearn for a polished look, yet still wish to embrace their natural texture. To achieve it, simply straighten bangs and diffuse or air dry the rest.

Say "I Do" to these updos Part IX

Have no fear with short hair on your special day! Any length or dimension can create a masterpiece of art!

Finger-combed sides and pinned curls give short hair the illusion of a voluminous updo. If you desire added drama, tease hair in the crown area.

In place of an accessory, have a bold block of color added to enhance texture and design on short hair.

Keep hair simple if your accessory will take center stage.A box veil adds a vintage feel and won’t overwhelm this short style.

Say "I Do" to these updos Part III

The carefree, casual bride can remain true to herself in this loose, flirty updo. Add a few small flowers for a feminine touch.

If you want to wear your hair down, but worry it may be in the way by the end of the day, choose this half-back look. A deep side part and extra volume in the crown convey a simple sophistication.

If you can’t choose between up or down, you don’t have to! This sultry style combines loose curls with one side pulled back for the best of both worlds.

Say "I do" to these updos Part II

For many of the stylists at Bella Bethesda, their favorite part of their job is helping clients prepare for special occasions. Bella’s team will work with you to design the wedding look of your dreams. Here are some of our favorite updos :

A floral accent gives balance to this playful, off-center updo. This look is perfect for tying in the colors and flowers used in the wedding.
Delicate braids woven into this style add texture without overpowering a delicate accessory.
A sleek front combined with intricate work in the back result in a look fit for both the classic and contemporary bride. This style works best with medium to thick hair.
